These are the shocking images of a worker who was reportedly mauled to death by a tiger that ripped his head off and left it 50 metres from his body.

The disturbing incident occurred in the Ulu Barumun district, in Padang Lawas Regency, in north-western Indonesia’s North Sumatra Province as Abusali Hasibuan was working on a rubber plantation.

Local media report Hasibuan, 61 years old, did not return home from his shift on the rubber plantation and his family began searching for him along with other local residents.

Abusali’s brother Sapran said they spent hours looking for his sibling before they found his decapitated head close to a hut.

Sapran says they then found his brother’s mutilated body 50 metres away, with the right arm missing.

Shocking images show how Abusali’s head was ripped clean off his body in what is a suspected tiger attack.

The rubber worker’s right arm is missing and his neck and head have been ripped off.

A tiger had reportedly been terrorising the area in recent weeks, with the big cat believed to have killed livestock.

A video taken by locals shows the tiger believed to have been behind the attack.

Local police chief Commander Sudirman said an investigation had been launched to try to locate the tiger.
