8-Month-Old COVID-19 Tot Beats Disease To Return Home

An eight-month-old baby who spent over a week in hospital with coronavirus has beaten the disease and been allowed to return home..

The tot, who has not been named in reports, was diagnosed with COVID-19 after returning to the city of Kursk in the Kursk Oblast in western Russia from Thailand, according to the Oblast’s Governor Roman Starovoit, 48.

Starovoit reported that the baby spent over a week in the Semashko Clinical Hospital fighting the disease before being discharged yesterday (8th April) having fully recovered.

The governor said that on the same day another two COVID patients had been discharged from the hospital after recovering from the disease but he did not specify their names or ages.

In the post he shared in social media, the governor wrote: “I am thankful to our doctors who helped these people recover from the disease. All of our medics and nurses are now in the first rows to fight against COVID-19. Thanks to everyone for their dedicated work”

The official urged Russians to help doctors and medics by staying home in self-isolation and following the increased hygiene measures.

There have been 10,131 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia with 76 deaths and 698 recoveries, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
