This is the moment a Turkish worker plummets from the second floor of an under-construction building after stepping on the end of a precariously-balanced metal sheet.
The accident was filmed at a building site in the city of Dortyol in the southern Turkish province of Hatay on the afternoon of Wednesday, 16th March.
In the footage, the victim, wearing yellow boots, is seen working alongside two colleagues before stepping on the metal sheet to pick up a loose strap dangling over the edge.
However, apparently unaware that the sheet is also balanced over the edge of the concrete floor, the worker steps forwards and it suddenly tilts and falls.
The worker slides feet-first as the sheet tips over the edge, taking him with it, and his colleagues look over the edge to check on him.
According to local reports, foreign worker Muhammed A., 47, was working on the second floor of the building when he stepped on the metal sheet and fell to the ground below.
His stunned colleagues rushed to his aid and he was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance after being treated by paramedics at the scene.
There have been no further updates on the worker’s injuries or his current health condition. It is also unclear if the local authorities are investigating the accident.
