A woman has been jailed for 10 years after she glued her private parts closed and then claimed her boyfriend did it shortly after he dumped her.
The 35-year-old woman, only identified by her initials V.G.G., was convicted of faking a criminal act, which resulted in the unwarranted arrest of her ex-boyfriend.
Also sentenced alongside her was a 28-year-old male accomplice who was fined by the High Court of Justice of Castile and Leon in northern Spain.
The woman reported that she had been kidnapped by two people including her boyfriend who grabbed her in the doorway of her home in Fabero in the northern Spanish province of Leon on 17th October 2016.
According to her, the two men bundled her into a car and took a to a place where she was abused and attacked by her former partner who afterwards put glue in her vagina and left her half-naked at a petrol station in the region of Bierzo Alto.
She was given medical attention and filed a criminal complaint with the Spanish Civil Guard. As a result, her boyfriend was arrested and kept in investigative custody for several days before being released when officers were unable to confirm that he was linked to the crime.
The police also became suspicious of her story after noticing she had purchased some of the items she later claimed were used in the fake attack.
According to a court statement, it was confirmed that the woman’s claims never took place, and it had been her intention to simply take revenge on her ex boyfriend after he broke up with her.
The court also confirmed that the threatening messages she said her boyfriend sent her had actually been sent by herself.
The accomplice, identified with the initials of F.V.A., 28, admitted to the court that he had helped to fake the kidnapping. He said he had been persuaded to help so that the boyfriend would be arrested and jailed.
