A woman cop has confessed to shooting dead this attractive young mother of a disabled child after believing her husband had been having an affair with her.

The unidentified Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) officer is currently at liberty but has handed in her badge and firearm while she is investigated for first-degree murder.

The fatal shooting took place during an argument between the two women in the city of Queimados in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.

The suspect reportedly confessed to the Baixada Fluminense (region in Rio de Janeiro state) Homicide Department to shooting dead 25-year-old Isadora Calheiros.

She told the police she shot the young woman, who had a boyfriend, after discovering her husband, also unidentified, had been having an affair with her.

She reportedly discovered the alleged affair through messages, the content of which has not been made public, exchanged between the two.

It was when the policewoman went to the young woman’s house apparently to confront her that a row ensued and she shot her with her work gun – in the face, according to Band Rio.

After being questioned by the police she was released on bail, as she has a seven-month-old son who is breastfeeding, according to G1.

After being shot, the victim was taken to the local A&E, but she was pronounced dead on arrival. She worked as a receptionist at a driving school and leaves behind a six-year-old daughter, who is physically disabled.

The police are investigating whether the motive for the crime was, indeed, the alleged affair.
