A terrified student is recovering after she was mauled by a pack of stray dogs as she waited for a bus outside her university.
The scary scenes were filmed at Van Yuzuncu Yil University, in the city of Van, in the eastern Turkish province of the same name.
It is unclear when the attack took place, but it was first reported by local media on Saturday, 9th April.
In the footage, two dogs are seen running across the road and confronting the young victim as she waits for her minibus to arrive.
The student backs away from the stray animals and several other dogs run over to join their pack mates, surrounding her on the road outside the university.
The student then starts to run across the central reservation and at least six wild dogs give chase, apparently attacking her legs and bringing her to the ground at the end of the video.
According to local reports, the student was attacked while waiting for a minibus to take her home.
It is unclear what happened to the student after the filmed attack and there have been no further updates on the incident.
Van Province is located in Turkey’s Eastern Anatolian region, between Lake Van and the Iranian border. It neighbours the provinces of Bitlis, Siirt, Sirnak, Hakkari, and Agri. The region is considered to be the cradle of Armenian civilisation.
