Huge 20kg Python Caught After Brave Pooch Alerts Owner

A three-meter long python that weighed a whopping 44 lbs has been captured after a quick-thinking pooch alerted its owners by barking furiously at the huge reptile.

The incident took place in Nong Kham in the district of Si Racha in the central Thai province of Chon Buri on 3rd February.

The dog owner, identified as 46-year-old Samai Yimyoo, heard the animal’s barks and went to investigate what was causing it to appear distressed.

He then saw the huge python and immediately called the local authorities.

According to local media, animal catchers were called to the scene in the mid-afternoon and found the dog near the house, keeping guard over its family and barking furiously at the large snake.

Yimyoo said his pooch was intentionally protecting its family as well as others in the area.

Reports said that it took around 10 minutes to capture the three-meter long snake that weighed 20 kilograms (44 lbs).

After animal captures seized the large reptile, they released it back into the wild in a forested area, according to reports.

Local media did not specify which species of python the snake was.
