This is the heart-warming moment a two-year-old boy helps a lost lamb find its mother.

The video was recorded in the city of Tacheng in the Chinese autonomous region of Xinjiang.

In the video, the boy can be seen walking beside the small lamb and pointing his finger to show it where they need to go to find the lamb’s mother.

The mother of the lamb can then be seen coming from the opposite direction and as they come close, the lamb happily runs towards its mother and they both leave together.

The mother of the boy, who has not been named, told local media: “I felt like looking at two little angels, one guarding the other.”

Lambs usually start walking only several minutes after they are born and they are very dependent on their mother sheep in the first four to six months.

Sheep are herbivores, which means they only eat seeds, grass and plants.

They can recognize up to 50 sheep faces and also, they can recognize human faces too. They are usually friendly and were one of the first domesticated animals.

The video gained a lot of comments on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is called in China, such as netizen ‘Xiaojie’ who said: “Cute baby, he helps little lamb find its mother.”

While ‘user 9527’ wrote: “Two children communicate with each other.”

And ‘Mida Decoration’ commented: “Cute baby, he knows the lamb is looking for his mother, so smart.”
