A jilted thug strangled his younger wife to death during a furious row over custody of their young son.

Brute Jose Jonne de Lima e Silva throttled mum-of-one Carla Cristina Monteiro Soares de Lima to death at their home in Francisco Morato, Brazil, on 10th January.

He then texted his lawyer saying: “I need you to come here, I’ve done something stupid.”

His lawyer then called the emergency services.

When Military Police officers arrived at the home in Sao Paulo state, the suspect was waiting in the garage holding his three-year-old son in his arms.

Chillingly, he told how he had hidden Carla’s body under the bed so the lad would not see her dead.

Before the killing, he told police, he had argued and fought with his wife while their son was in the bath.

Silva told police he had then sent him to his room before strangling Carla to death and hiding her body.

Silva, 35, and Carla, 23, were in the process of divorcing.

They were still living under the same roof, but Carla had just taken out a restraining order against her husband.

Silva’s lawyer said he had flown into a rage upon learning that he could not go back to his own home and went there straight away and began arguing with his wife.

In addition to rowing over the house, they also argued about custody of the couple’s son, he revealed.

Carla had reported Silva to police in November for threatening behaviour and again – just hours before she was killed – for causing injury.

At the police station following the crime, Silva admitted to killing his wife but refused to give further details.

Their son is now in the care of his sister, as Carla’s family lives in Minas Gerais state.

Carla had been living in Francisco Morato for around five years.

The case has been registered as femicide and remains under investigation.
