This is the moment a quick-thinking driver slams his motor into reverse and flees to safety when two masked thugs brandishing a huge rifle and a pistol try to rob his car.

The startling incident occurred in the Berea area of the city of Durban, Eastern South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province and was recorded by a CCTV camera.

In the video, the driver can be seen pulling up to the gate of a property in his red Audi and he speaks to the security guard.

As the two are chatting, a black SUV pulls up behind them and two thugs in balaclavas come running out.

One of the criminals is brandishing a huge rifle while the other is carrying a pistol. The thug with the handgun walks up to the passenger side window but the driver quickly reacts, reversing at high speed before driving away.

Another angle shows how the driver was fortunate there were no cars in the road when he reversed out.

A police spokesman said that the thugs had ordered the male driver, who has not been named, to step out of the car but he had refused.

An investigation has been launched into the case but no arrests have been reported.

False news. There is no “huge” rifle used by the carjackers. The black criminals were using standard size the world over normal size rifles and a standard size handgun in the commission of their criminal activity. Stop embellishing for your agenda and report unbiased facts only.
