This video shows a crying boy refusing to let his father go back to army duty.
The unnamed Chinese family’s reunion was cut short after the dad, a military soldier who had returned home while on leave for a holiday, was called back the following morning and was requested to get back on duty.
The sad event which was captured on video by the soldier’s wife, took place in Qingdao, a major city in eastern Shandong Province, China, on 30th July.
It showcases the difficulties that military families have to go through in their everyday lives.
In the footage, the dad can be seen trying to say goodbye to his weeping son, who could not come to terms with the abrupt ending of his father’s stay.
As the man tries to go and put his shoes on, the child then jumps up from the couch where he was sitting and proceeds to block the door.
The devastated boy can then be seen slapping his father’s hand as he tries to reach for the door handle.
His father then starts gently patting the crying child’s hair and wiping away the boy’s tears in an effort to talk him into letting go, but to no avail.
Finally, the mother can be seen stepping in and manages to soothe and convince her son that it is time to let dad go.
The heartbroken kid then reluctantly opens the door and sends him off with a kiss.
