This is the viral moment Russian rapper Timati shows a handy way of pressing lift buttons without contracting COVID-19 by using wire on the end of a lighter that can be immediately disinfected after use.
Timur Ildarovich Yunusov, better known by his stage name Timati, shared the life hack on Instagram for his huge army of 15 million followers where it has been viewed 3 million times.
In the video, the 36-year-old hip hop star, who is famous for his pro-Putin stance and considers controversial Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov among his pals, is seen holding a green lighter in the lift.
He then uses the lighter, which appears to have metal wire taped to the top, to press the lift button.
The practically-minded rapper then uses the lighter’s flame to disinfect the wire immediately after use.
Netizen ‘Olgamishas’ commented: “Very amusing. I like the idea.”
‘StomDdr’ said: “What do you think of this idea Elon Musk?”
‘PavelGorlin’ wrote: “Black Star lighters will soon be on sale!”
Black Star refers to the Timati’s music label as well as the burger restaurant, clothing line and tattoo shop he owns.
Russian president Vladimir Putin has declared this week a national holiday while falling short of imposing a full-scale lockdown to combat the spread of COVID-19.
However, the authorities in Moscow announced a full lockdown this week after the capital city saw a sharp increase in the number of cases.
As of 31st March, Russia has reported 2,337 cases of COVID-19 and 17 related deaths, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.
Meanwhile, 121 people have made full recoveries.
