This is the viral moment a baseball cap-wearing thug grabs his ex by the hair and launches a vicious assault against her knocking over the woman’s toddler daughter.

The incident took place in Lanus in the eastern Argentine capital Buenos Aires and was filmed by two residents who heard the victim’s screams and called the police.

In the footage shared on Facebook and viewed 4.6 million times, a young woman is seen holding her daughter’s hand as the suspect rushes towards her.

He inadvertently knocks the toddler to the ground as he grabs the mother’s hair and swings her around, sending her crashing to the pavement.

The victim gets to her feet and he appears to hit her before she scoops up her child and tries to walk away.

The ex-boyfriend follows her, but rushes towards the camerawoman filming the scenes who has to quickly shut her front door on him.

Thanks to the viral video, the suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Juan Manuel Godoy and the police have confirmed that they are investigating him.

Meanwhile, the victim’s mother has claimed that it is not the first time that he has attacked her daughter, named as Maria Florencia, 28.

She said: “He will not let her go, he makes up stories and attacks her out of jealousy.”

According to police sources, Maria Florencia has not reported the incident.

Her mum said: “I think she never reports him because he threatens her.”

However, the local authorities have responded to the widely-circulated video and are trying to track down Godoy, who has reportedly gone missing.

The investigation is ongoing.
