This is the footage that shows the moment the family of a stunning Russian model and former rhythmic gymnast was devastated after her brother was killed by a speeding driver and her grandmother had a heart attack after she was told.
The shocking footage only just published shows the speeding driver who had apparently been snowboarding with friends rushing to get back in time for work and failing to stop despite the fact that passengers are alighting from a tram in front of him.
As the grainy footage shows, the car changes lanes where one vehicle has already stopped in front of him and continues at full speed down the vacant Lane, where three tram passengers are crossing to get onto the pavement on Krasnokazarmennaya Street in Moscow, Russia.
Cars are supposed to stop when trams are letting off passengers, but because the driver was late he ignored the rule, with devastating consequences.
As can be seen, he sends three people flying with two people treated for severe head injuries, but the person who was hit hardest was 28-year-old Ivan Bulychev. He was thrown 20 meters (66 ft) away and died on the spot a few minutes later after the accident.
The accident happened in January but the footage has only been shared now together with the revelations of exactly how much it has devastated the models family.
She was in Istanbul at the time and said: “He essentially killed not only my brother, but he also killed my entire family. Because the grandmother is dead, she couldn’t stand my brother’s death and had a heart attack. My parents are in a terrible state, I do not know how they will continue to live.
“As my dad used to say, I am the happiest person and I do not need anything, because I have the best family in the world, and now this family is gone.”
Her gran had apparently suffered her first heart attack when being told and despite medical treatment had failed to return to health, suffering several more heart attacks before the one that eventually killed her.
The driver of the white Skoda Octavia who seemingly does not even attempt to break as he speeds past the tram was identified as 27-year-old Denis Zhuravlev, and a test confirmed he had not been drinking or taking drugs.
He said in an interview: “I went snowboarding with friends and when I came back, I had to go to work. And, unfortunately, because of my negligence, such an incident took place.”
He also added:” I sent letters of apology.”
The driver claims he was driving around 60 kph although some experts questioned estimated that it was far quicker than that.
The surveillance footage is currently being studied to determine the exact speed.
Nataliya also confirmed that the driver had tried to reach a settlement with her family, promising them cash but they have refused, saying they want to see him serve the full sentence of five years for causing a traffic accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
