A scavenger found this beautiful woman’s body with her throat cut when he pulled open a bag at a rubbish dump hoping there might be something valuable inside.

The incident occurred on a landfill site on the outskirts of the city of Lozovaya located in the eastern Ukrainian Kharkiv Oblast region.

The scavenger, identified only by the first name Mikhael, reportedly fled and raised the alarm with police after spotting the body.

He reportedly visited the landfill site on a daily basis to look for valuables and said: “I grabbed the bag but then I spotted the leg. She was dead but there was no blood.”

Police who arrived a short while later confirmed that the woman was dead after having her throat cut, and analysis of the CCTV footage for the rubbish tip revealed the bag had been brought there by a car the previous day.

The victim was identified as a 40-year-old Irina Cherkasova, and she was last seen drinking a local cafe until midnight when she left. She was described as being single, and living alone.

Police spokesman Alexei Sergeevich told Central European News (CEN) that after studying the footage they had arrested a 54-year-old local man who was unmarried.

He said: “The suspect and the victim knew each other. They had a friendship but so far the suspect has not given a motive for the attack.”
