The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) offered interested candidates “the experience of a lifetime” after revealing on Monday, 13th March, that they are seeking a professional bear hugger.

The department responsible for maintaining wildlife and fish in the state of New Mexico, USA, disclosed more about the ideal candidate’s set of skills by saying in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Now hiring professional bear huggers.

“Must have ability to hike in strenuous conditions, have the courage to crawl into a bear den, and have the trust in your coworkers to keep you safe during the process.

“Not all law enforcement field work is this glamorous, but we would love for you to join the team where you can have the experience of a lifetime.”

The post includes a set of photos showing conservation officers cuddling bear cubs as part of a research project in the northern part of the state.

“This was part of a research project in Northern New Mexico and all bears were handled safely under supervision.

“If you do, our officers will have to have a chat with you.”

They also advised: “P. P. S. Don’t feed the bears.”
