This is the moment a US rescue team straps a sedated horse into a harness and airlifts it out of a 60-foot ravine after it fell and trapped itself.
The incident was filmed in Orange County in the Los Angeles metropolitan area located in the US state of California on 21st September.
Lola the horse tumbled 60 feet down a ravine before being rescued by the local authorities and reunited with its owner.
The animal was trapped in the ravine and a rescue team was sent to hoist it out.
A vet had to sedate the horse first to ensure the rescue team could safely airlift it out of the ravine.
The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) said on Facebook: “Who loves a story that ends well? Lola, an eight-year-old horse, fell down an approximately 60 foot ravine and was trapped.
“OCFA technical rescue team members and our helicopter devised a plan to save Lola.
“Walking the horse out was not an option due to the terrain. We had a vet come to the scene to sedate Lola so we could safely fly her out.
“We flew Lola to a safe landing spot with additional rescue team members awaiting.
The OCFA added: “Fortunately, we were able to reunite Lola with her owner who was ecstatic to see her!”
