This Turkish hairdresser has been shot dead by a dad unhappy about the haircut he gave his son.
The shocking incident took place at a barbershop on Odun Pazari street, in the city of Kilis, in the southern Turkish province of the same name, in the early hours of 18th July.
The hairdresser, who has been named in local media as Ali Osman Karabalik, whose age was not given, was reportedly gunned down by the father of a boy he had given a trim to after they argued about the lad’s new haircut.
The heated row ended with the furious dad, Yahya Bagici, whose age was also not given, storming out of the shop – but not to calm down. Instead, he went home and grabbed a shotgun, and returned to the barbershop where he allegedly shot the hairdresser, fatally injuring him.
Ali Osman was taken to Kilis State Hospital but he died of his injuries despite the doctors’ best efforts and Yahya Bagici was arrested.
The police confirmed they had arrested Bagici and also deployed a significant police presence in the neighbourhood to prevent the situation from escalating further.
Their investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
