This is the moment a road rage driver who got out of his car and threateningly walked towards the vehicle behind him turned tail and ran after being caught off guard by the police.

The incident occurred recently in Melbourne, in Australia, with the video showing the man getting out of his car, a red VW hatchback, in the middle of the road and marching towards the vehicle behind him while angrily gesturing.

The video was filmed from the car in front of him and shows the man, wearing a tracksuit and a hoodie, beckoning to the driver to get out, apparently keen for a fight.

He can be heard shouting “come on” at the bespectacled motorist, who appears to be in the car with a woman.

But then he suddenly turns tail and runs back to his vehicle as quickly as he can, and the reason suddenly becomes clear as two Victoria police officers emerge from behind the car filming and chase after him.

It is currently unclear when precisely the clip was filmed, with the images shared online on Saturday, 4th November, where they are going viral, having notched up over 300,000 views at the time of writing.

The police were unable to provide comment to local media, and it is currently unclear what happened after the footage ends.
