Tot Killed As Hitmen Gang Open Fire On Restaurant

This three-week-old baby boy has died after being shot by a stray bullet fired by a gang of hitmen outside a roadside restaurant.

Baby Jesus Humberto was born on 1st February but was shot on 23rd February whilst inside the car of a relative in the El Ranchito colony in the city of Hermosillo, in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora.

Local media report the tot’s parents Karina and Francisco had left the car to take an order from a roadside sushi restaurant when a gang of hitmen ran out of two vehicles and opened fire.

The hitmen reportedly shot and killed their target Elit Gustavo, 23, before running back into the cars and opening fire again on the restaurant.

One of the bullets hit the baby inside the car and the tot was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Sonora where he died four hours later.

The baby’s mother wrote on social media: “Sorry to bring you to this sh*tty world. You did not deserve this, you have left great pain in my soul, I do not know what I will do without you, my baby”.

While the tot’s grandmother, identified as Tere Escalante shared a touching message on social media about the baby’s death, writing: “The gang members can do whatever they to each other, the hitmen, I don’t know what they are, but this was a three-week-old baby in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“We can’t be safe anymore, I’m scared now, I don’t want to live here.”

She added: “My son is devastated because his son fought a lot to be born and they took him from us in an ugly way, they came and destroyed our lives.

“This life is sh*t, but what did this little angel do?”

The grandmother added a message to the baby’s killers, writing: “I hope you can never sleep in peace again, you took a piece of a heart today.”

No arrests have been reported and the motives behind the killing of Gustavo are unclear.
