This is the moment a motorist encounters a topless drunk man standing in the middle of the road at night and scoops him onto his bonnet where he begins to smash the windscreen.

According to local media, the drunk half-naked man, identified as Mr Cai, was partying with friends in the city of Shantou in the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong when the approaching motorist’s high beam lights interrupted them.

In the footage filmed by the driver’s dash cam, Mr Cai is seen standing in the middle of the road while topless.

He reportedly asks the driver to get out of the car for a fight.

Two friends quickly join him and the motorist reverses away from the apparently drunk group.

The driver then accelerates forwards and Mr Cai stands his ground.

The car slams into him and he has to jump onto the bonnet and cling on as the motorist accelerates down the road.

Mr Cai then damages one of the windscreen wipers and starts to smash the driver’s windscreen.

The motorist suddenly brakes and Mr Cai falls onto the road, then he continues driving away from the drunk group.

Reports said that the drunk men somehow managed to find the driver afterwards and beat him up.

The drunk man’s friend Mr Xie told the police: “We were drinking beer near the bridge when [we were] shocked by the high beam and noise.

“We stopped his car and asked for an apology from the driver, but he said he would call people to beat us up. We lost our minds and became outraged.”

The local police have confirmed they are investigating Mr Cai and his two friends for allegedly beating the driver.
