British actor Tim Roth has said he has “20/20” vision for the first time in his life after jetting into Croatia to undergo eye surgery – and he also raved about the country’s food.

Reports said that the Oscar-nominated 58-year-old was spotted reading messages on his phone at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel in the northern Croatian capital Zagreb, however, observers failed to notice that he was not wearing his glasses.

The day before, the ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ star reportedly underwent eye surgery at the Svjetlost Eye Clinic, one of the leading ophthalmology clinics in the region.

While at the clinic, Roth was filmed saying: “This is about as close to a miracle as you can get. So I came here and I was blind, well not blind necessarily but I felt blind, and found it very difficult to see and constantly have to work with glasses, to carry them around with me.

“I found myself actually doing entire jobs, entire films, entire TV shows, just completely fuzzy. Not being able to see the actors properly who I was working with.”

The British actor added: “Now, within 48 hours, I have 20/20 vision for the rest of my life.

“And it is extraordinary, and I recommend that everyone comes here if they can.”

In a separate interview with local media, Roth praised the local food and said he loved Croatian hospitality.

He said: “One of the best restaurants I’ve been to is Dida Tavern. The fish was excellent and we are definitely coming back.

Roth also said that he would consider Croatia as a possible holiday destination while adding that family and friends have nothing but good things to say about the country.

Tim Roth has appeared in the Quentin Tarantino films ‘Reservoir Dogs’, ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘The Hateful Eight’ as well as ‘Four Rooms’ which directed by four different filmmakers including Tarantino and his close friend Robert Rodriguez.
