Texas Cops On Hunt For Magician Who Scammed Walmart Cashiers Out Of GBP 2K

Texas cops are on the hunt for a ‘magician’ who scammed Walmart cashiers out of over GBP 2,000 using a sleight-of-hand trick.

The suspect visited Walmart in the city of Seguin in the US state of Texas on two occasions in January and February to carry out the scam.

The police said the suspect used a sleight-of-hand trick to deceive Walmart cashiers into believing he did not receive the correct change.

Seguin Police Department said: “Penn & Teller- watch out. Seguin has their very own magician on the rise.

“On January 10 and February 12, Seguin’s next David Blaine made a stop at Walmart for a quick magic show. Sadly, only he knew about the performance.

“The pictured magician quick-changed employees of Walmart out of a total of $2,700 [GBP 2,060]. Quick-changing is when a suspect uses a slight-of-hand trick while counting out their change to pocket money. The suspect will count out the change showing the employee that he was short-changed while he uses his other hand to pocket a portion of the money.”

The police added: “Both a magician & a fashionista- this individual changed for his performance and is pictured during both incidents.”

The authorities are calling on the public to come forwards with any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.

Seguin Police Department said Detective Schramm wants to “book him… for his next magic performance, of course”.
