Fallen tennis ace Boris Becker has whisked his new love off to see her family on their tiny African island homeland as friends talk of their plans to marry.
Boris and the politician’s daughter Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro had flown into Sao Tome e Principe to spend Christmas with her family.
Photos of the trip show the couple looking blissfully happy as adoring Lilian rests her head on Becker’s shoulder.
Other photos show Boris posing with Lilian’s family and the couple relaxing as they lay back in a canoe.
Lilian’s father is the tiny state’s former Defence Minister and once stood in presidential elections.
Highly educated Lilian, a political risk analyst, was dating Boris when he was jailed last year for failing to declare all his funds at a bankruptcy hearing.
At the time his friends said Lilian had become the love of his life and talked of wedding plans.
The twice-married former Wimbledon star is said to have got down on one knee to pop the question to Lilian at historic Milan Cathedral.
Boris, released after serving eight months of a two-and-a-half-year sentence for fraud, is said to be planning wedding number three.
One friend said: “Boris is incredibly grateful to Lilian for staying with him through the hardest time of his life.

“He said, ‘she saved me, and I will never forget her for that. She is the woman of my new life’.”
Boris captioned the new pictures for his 350,000 Instagram followers: “Visiting Lilian’s family in Sao Tome e Principe for the Holidays. Merry Christmas Ragazzi!”
He captioned another post: “Approaching the end of a long and winding year in good spirits, on my favourite island with my love.”
One follower ‘reimersfrankedgar’ said: “That’s right, Boris! Enjoy!”
While ‘ramollajutta’ added: “Have a nice time and enjoy yourself… Boris all the best to you, you remain my tennis hero…”
And ‘basti-knopf’ said: “Have a good time with your family and enjoy your life. You deserve it. No matter what happens, it’s because of you that I pick up the tennis racket every week. You are and will remain my hero.”
Becker is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time and in 1985 aged just 17 became the youngest person to win the men’s singles at Wimbledon.
But after he retired from tennis, he plagued by financial problems.
