This is the moment a teenage idiot throws an explosive into a residential property on Christmas Day, where it landed on the bed of a sleeping girl, seriously injuring her and resulting in her death a few hours later.

Aylla Manuella Ribeiro da Piedade, 4, passed away from her injuries in the early hours of Sunday, 26th December.

She had been hit by an explosive that landed in the bedroom where she was sleeping in the city of Barretos in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo the previous afternoon.

CCTV footage shows a boy hurling an object towards a residential property moments before a woman runs out and appears to shout at the group of youths loitering on the street.

A man then emerges from the property holding the youngster’s apparently limp body in his arms before the clip ends.

The parents took their daughter to the Santa Casa de Misericordia de Barretos hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of the following morning.

The suspect was identified as a 14-year-old teenage boy. According to the police, his house was later set on fire by some 30 locals who were enraged by the girl’s death.

The property suffered significant damage, according to the police. However, no injuries had been reported at the time of writing.

The Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) have registered the case as negligent bodily injury. It is not clear if they have arrested the suspect.

The police suspect that the explosive went over the wall of the house and into the bedroom where the girl was sleeping and landed on the mattress.

The victim will be buried in her hometown of Primavera in the state of Para.
