Teen Girl Dies After Pickup Truck Rolls Down Sand Bank

This is the horrifying moment a 4X4 pickup truck rolls out of control down a huge sand dune killing a 13-year-old passenger.

The teen, named as Pashula Hangula, was thrown out of the Ford Ranger Raptor truck as it rolled over and over again when it tumbled down the slope.

Medics, reports local media, declared her dead at the scene.

Shocking video footage of the crash shows to twin-cab truck apparently losing traction as it tried to race up the ridge in Walvis Bay, Namibia, on 30th December.

As it nears the crest of the dune, the truck falters and begins a helter-skelter fall as it rolls over repeatedly. As it crashes to the bottom of the slope.

Still images of the truck show that every panel including the passenger compartment has been crushed and twisted in the fall.

The 21-year-old driver who has not been named, and three other passengers survived the crash, say police.

Three people were rushed to Walvis Bay State Hospital for emergency treatment, reports local media.

Erongo police spokesperson Ileni Shapumba told local media. “In his attempt to dislodge the vehicle, it skidded on the loose sand, overturned, and rolled down the dune.”

Inspector Shapumba added: “The police have informed the next of kin of the deceased and are actively investigating the incident as a culpable homicide case.”
