The driver allegedly responsible for this fatal car accident in Moscow had reportedly racked up an incredible 650 traffic offences last year yet still had his licence when he caused this head on crash.
The dramatic accident on Butyrskaya Street in the Russian capital city of Moscow took place on 25th January and involved six vehicles.
In the video, the speeding car can be seen hitting a stationary car at the traffic lights in front of it. The driver of the moving car loses control and veers into oncoming traffic, crashing into another vehicle head-on and hitting another.
Local media report one unnamed person died as a result of the crash. The driver of the speeding car, who has not been named, had been handed 650 tickets in 2019 it was revealed.
Aleksander Evsin from the Traffic Management Centre said: “Such people should not be allowed to drive. He got more than 650 fines in one year. And these were not small ones.”
Evsin noted that the fines included all types of violations from crossing a double lane to exceeding the speed limit by over 60 kph (37 mph).
The man reportedly failed to pay most of the fines.
Reports say that about 10 minutes prior to the accident, the same driver was seen driving at more than 150 kph (93 mph).
Evsin also noted that the man’s car had white stripes on it which look similar to those on police vehicles in Moscow.
He added: “He also has a provocative line saying “department of struggle against silence” on it.”
There have been no formal explanations as to how the man had not had his driving licence stripped from him.
It is also unclear whether he has been arrested.
