This is the shocking moment a driver crashes into the central reservation and the car flips over several times, throwing the man through the window and sending him flying into a shopfront.

The incident was filmed on the Ignacio Zaragoza Bypass in the city of Morelia in the western Mexican state of Michoacan in the early hours of Tuesday, 22nd March.

In the footage, the driver is seen apparently losing control at speed and crashing into the road divider.

The car flips over several times in the road and the driver is seen being thrown high into the air and into the shopfront, apparently smashing the illuminated sign.

According to local reports, the motorist, name not disclosed, was speeding when he overturned and flew out of the driver’s window.

He was thrown into a building wall and shop sign and ended up seriously injured on the ground.

He reportedly suffered multiple fractures to his skull, ribs, and legs, and was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

The police told local media that speeding may have been a factor in the accident.

The news site La Silla Roja has claimed the authorities indicated that he was also in a state of intoxication. However, this has yet to be confirmed in a statement.

There have been no further updates on the driver’s condition as the investigation continues.
