A stunning Italian influencer has terrified her followers after sharing images online showing her disfigured face following a dog attack.

YouTube star Greta Menchi, 27, shocked her social media fans when she posted several photos and video footage showing her barely recognisable face covered in bandages online.

The images show a blood-stained gauze between her swollen lips, while numerous plasters cover one side of bruised hose up to her mouth.

Video footage of her injuries shows her left nostril and upper lip covered in protective surgical tape after surgeons spent an hour sewing her face back together.

Menchi, from Rome, Italy, claimed she was attacked by a dog, saying: “Last night [27th December], a dog attacked me. I can’t tell you what breed of dog was, just know that its teeth were like scalpels.

“It cut everything off of me in a second.”

Following the attack, she was admitted to the Sant’Eugenio Hospital in Rome, where she told how she waited for a plastic surgeon’s assessment.

Menchi – who has 1.1 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.4 million followers on Instagram – explained: “I ran to the emergency room because I couldn’t even understand the extent of the damage.

“I only felt with my tongue that everything behind it was open, and nothing was sutured inside me, because usually for animal injuries due to the risk of infections, stitches are not put in.

“But they put them in me, and this morning, they sent me back to the Sant’Eugenio Hospital to talk to a plastic surgeon, because everything was open and now let’s see for a moment what they tell me.

“Oh well, what can I tell you, my life is a movie.”

Menchi then explained what happened at the hospital and said: “They stitched me up for an hour. They gave me a number of stitches.”

She added: “Just so people don’t worry, it’s okay.”
