SEW CARELESS: Bungling Surgeons Left Scissors Inside Politician’s Body

This shocking X-ray image shows how bungling surgeons left a huge pair of scissors inside a Brazilian politician’s body after an intestine op.

Horrified patient Cleyton Jose Zanatta – a councillor for Nova Santa Helena, Brazil – had to have a second operation to remove the blades.

The politician had originally been admitted to Hospital Regional de Colider on 20th January to have a tumour removed.

But just six days later, he was back saying he felt unwell.

Shocked medics discovered in CT scans that a large pair of scissors had been left behind when he was sewn up after the first operation.

Zanatta – a member of the liberal, centrist Brazilian Social Democracy Party – is said to be recovering after the second op.

Health officials in Mato Grosso State say his condition is stable.
