This is the moment a not-so-bright spark burns off a man’s hair as he leans over an industrial-strength firework and sets it off.
Baffling footage of the bizarre accident shows the man – named only as Li – besides a huge display-sized firework in the street in Huludao, Liaoning Province, China.
But as he bends over to set it off, he apparently forgets to get out of the way and streams of green fire shoot up into his head.
The footage – shot on 11th January – shows a sheet of smoke and flames shooting 30ft into the air.
Local media reported that Li lost half the hair on his head and both his eyebrows in the blast but say he is lucky to be alive.
He said: “Fortunately, I was not injured. Half of my hair was burnt. My hair was long before, but it was burnt seriously.
“I went to the barber shop afterwards and shaved my head bald.
“I will never set off fireworks again, it’s too scary.”
He shared the video of the accident as a warning to others on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok.
Netizens make humorous remarks about how Li might have actually been doing demining work rather than lighting up a firecracker.
And user ‘Xiaohe 5472’ jokingly said: “He must’ve had no money to get a perm.”
