This is the moment a woman in a Mercedes-Benz slams into the side of an oncoming lorry in an ear-splitting crash seen and heard on camera. 

The accident happened in the city of Anqing in East China’s Anhui Province on 9th June.

CCTV footage from the city’s Anjiu Road shows the white Mercedes-Benz SUV, driven by the as yet unidentified woman, approaching the larger tanker lorry on the road.

Neither driver appears to realise how close they are to each other, and the two vehicles suddenly collide, sending debris flying onto the road as the driver’s side of the Mercedes-Benz is completely destroyed.

In the video, the Mercedes-Benz spins 180 degrees after the loud, piercing crash, the out-of-control vehicle rolls towards the side of the road.

A pedestrian can be seen running away as the car slowly rolls backwards past her and out of frame.

According to reports, the Mercedes-Benz driver lost her life in the accident, while the tanker lorry driver survived the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, with no arrests announced by Anqing police at the time of writing.

It is also unclear whether either drive had accidentally strayed into the other’s lane prior to the collision.
