Screams As Burning Pharmacy Collapses In Chile Protests

This is the moment a pharmacy which had been looted and set on fire during Chile’s latest protests collapses as onlookers scream.

The incident took place after the Green Cross pharmacy city centre of Antofagasta, in the northern Chilean region of the same name was reportedly looted and set on fire on Tuesday 11th November during a general strike.

Local media report firefighters were called to the scene and tried to put the fire out but to no avail. In the videos, firefighters can be seen watching on as the fire rages and the buildings face then crashes to the ground.

Onlookers scream as the burning walls crash onto the tarmac below.

According to reports, other buildings including a police station and buildings belonging to the regional government were also set on fire.

A general strike was called on Tuesday and local media report fires and looting were seen around the country.

Reports state one person, who has not been named in reports, died in the protests on Tuesday, raising the number of victims to 24 in less than four weeks of protests.

Local media report thousands of people have been injured and 201 partially or totally lost an eye due to pellets fired at the protestors by the Chilean police.
