SCHOOL GUN TERROR: Police Seize Gunman Outside Primary School

This is the life or death moment police officers armed with just a taser chase down a gunman outside a city centre primary school and find him with a loaded revolver.

The 20-year-old – named as Johniel Barrett – was found to have a working World War I era Webley VI revolver loaded with two live rounds of ammunition.

Barrett was jailed for five years after he pled guilty to firearms charges at Birmingham Crown Court on 19th December.

The incident started when police officers in an unmarked car near Birmingham City Hospital noticed a speeding vehicle cut in front of them on 1st February 2021.

They gave chase to the black VW Polo and when it pulled up at the side of the road in response to their blue light, Barrett got out and tried to run away.

Officers chased him by car and on foot, where he was pinned to the floor outside a school.
