Two mourning pooches continue to leave aside food for their canine pal who passed away in June after eating a bar of soap and suffering an allergic reaction.

Argentine netizen Victoria Ceballos posted the photo of the two French bulldogs leaving aside food for their deceased pal on Twitter where it has been ‘liked’ nearly 50,000 times.

Ceballos explained: “My female dog died two months ago and the other dogs still keep food for her.”

Netizens responded to the sad post in their droves, with comments including “a bullet to my brain would have been less painful”, “I am trying not to cry” and “I read this post on my way to work and I was deeply moved”.

Ceballos was overwhelmed by the online attention, telling Twitter users: “Please do not cry anymore. If it is any consolation, the other dogs are still happy.”

In an earlier post, Ceballos shared several photos of her female pet before it died and said that it “passed away in my arms” 24 hours after sneaking into the bathroom and eating the soap.

At the time, she wrote on Twitter: “My heart is broken. I will miss you for the rest of my life, my beautiful Rufina.”
