Barnokhon Kyzy Rasulzhan, 24, who originally comes from the Central Asian country Kyrgyzstan, was sentenced by a court in Preobrazhenskiy, a district in the western Russian capital Moscow.

In 2017, Rasulzhan tried selling her unborn daughter and placed an advert online which was then discovered by Russian police.

Interested buyers asked Rasulzhan to bring the girl to Moscow from the town of Almetievsk in the south-western Russian republic of Tatarstan where they could assist her with documents and medical help.

However, shortly before going into labour, Rasulzhan stopped contacting them and later decided to keep the child.

In early 2019, the woman then placed a similar advertisement online looking for ‘adoptive’ parents for her second child.

She has asked for one million RUB (12,140 GBP) as payment for one child.

This time the woman did not change her mind and was caught by the police while receiving the money from the client.
