An angry woman has been fined the equivalent of just GBP22 for driving off with her protesting boyfriend on her car bonnet, before braking suddenly and sending him flying.

The incident was filmed in the city of Quzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang earlier this month, and the footage has been widely circulated on the social network Weibo.

According to the news site Baidu, the couple were arguing when the man decided to jump on the bonnet of the woman’s car to prevent her from driving away.

However, the angry girlfriend stepped on the accelerator and he had to hold on to the bonnet.

The police arrived on the scene and reportedly found the man vomiting after hitting his head on the ground and suffering a concussion.

He was subsequently taken to hospital while his girlfriend was later fined CNY 200 (GBP 22) for dangerous driving.

In the footage, the man is seen jumping onto his girlfriend’s car bonnet to apparently prevent her driving away mid-argument.

She then drives off with him clinging onto the bonnet before braking suddenly.

The man is sent flying and apparently hits his head on the tarmac while his phone falls out of his hand.
