This is the bizarre moment a Russian motorist whizzes around the streets in a Lada emblazoned with ‘COVID-19 Control’ stickers.

The incident was filmed on Eseninskiy Boulevard in the western capital Moscow, and two video clips have been widely circulated on Instagram.

According to local media, a 25-year-old Lada owner was operating a vehicle with stickers saying ‘COVID-19 Control: Department against Coronavirus’.

The police said the man was also using a driving licence that was reported as lost.

Police spokeswoman Irina Volk said the motorist violated seven rules, including darkening the Lada’s windows.

He was reportedly asked to remove the COVID-19-related stickers after the local authorities were made aware of the online videos.

It is unclear what punishment the driver is currently facing for violating seven traffic laws.

Netizen ‘Nekko’ said: “What an idiot!”

‘Yyoyyoyyo’ commented: “This is so stupid. I wonder what puts such ideas in people’s heads.”

‘Hardik’ remarked: “People are really proving how stupid they are by putting such stickers on their cars.”

However, a spokesperson for the motorist association ZhukovClub told Newsflash: “The stickers were made to cheer people up. People smiled so much in the one week the car was on the roads. No one was negative about it, only the police…”
