Russia Says Its Artillery Took Out Ukrainian Forces On Right Bank Of Dnipro River

These images purport to show Russian artillery taking out Ukrainian forces on the right bank of the Dnipro River.

The footage shows Russian artillery repeatedly opening fire on unseen targets. The images then cut to a number of explosions, reportedly the Ukrainian positions being hit.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday, 23rd January, along with a statement claiming (in English): “Dnepr Group of Forces paratroopers artillery units wipe out AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] section in stronghold on right bank of Dnepr River.”

“Airborne Troops artillery formation units of the Dnepr Group of Forces wipe out AFU firepower, weaponry, military hardware, and manpower on the right bank of the Dnepr Group of Forces in Kherson region.” (sic)

We have not been able to independently verify the claims or the footage.

Dan Crenshaw, a moderate Republican congressman, has criticised MAGA Republicans for their unwillingness to work with US President Joe Biden on border security and Ukraine aid.

Crenshaw said that some Republicans are saying “we’ll never vote for it if it’s attached to Ukraine aid. Really? We get meaningful border policy with the Ukraine aid and you’re not going to vote for that?

“You want Russia to win more than you want border policy changes? Some people say Biden wants it now because it’s helpful to him politically? OK! I want border security, that’s what I told my constituents I would do for them. So if we can get that deal, that’s a no-brainer.”
