Ronaldos Son Shocked At Stars Humble Beginnings

Cristiano Ronaldo has said his eldest son was shocked when he showed him the humble house where he lived in Lisbon after moving to the city as a 12-year-old to pursue his dreams.

Juventus star Ronaldo took his son to the house where he lived in the Portuguese capital Lisbon with his life-long friend Miguel Paixao when he was 12 years old after he left his home island of Madeira to try his luck in football.

In an interview with Portuguese TV channel Televisao Independente (TVI) he spoke about the experience.

Ronaldo said: “I really wanted for him to see where I grew up. He already knew Madeira and the Marques de Pombal residence. He went up with me and the same people that lived there back then were still there”.

The former Manchester United forward said he became a little emotional because as he “was not expecting to see the same people,” which “moved” him.

Ronaldo went on to say: “I went with Paixao and Cristiano Jr., we went into the room I stayed in. My son turned towards me and said: ‘Dad, you used to live here?’ He could not believe it”.

Ronaldo said: “They (his children) think everything is easy in this life. The quality of life, the houses, the cars, the clothes… They think everything falls from the sky. That is what I try to instill in my son.

“Even when I do events in schools. I try to transmit that talent will not be enough. With work and dedication I think you can obtain everything you want to do”.
