This is the moment an innocent six-year-old boy rocks back and forward on a concrete bench before it suddenly topples over and flattens him in a freak accident.

The incident took place in the district of Ranga Reddy in the city of Hyderabad in the southern Indian state of Telangana when the young victim was playing with friends in a courtyard.

The freak accident that saw the young boy fatally injured was filmed by a CCTV camera mounted in a garage next to the courtyard.

In the footage, the boy is seen sitting on a bench as other children appear to be playing a ball game.

He starts kicking his feet to rock the concrete bench backwards and forwards.

However, the heavy bench then suddenly topples over, reportedly trapping the boy’s head.

Several men rush to his aid and lift the concrete bench off the six-year-old boy.

Meanwhile, one man drags the boy’s limp body clear and tries to reanimate him.

The boy is seen taking a few steps before falling to the ground again.

According to local media, he suffered serious head injuries and died shortly afterwards.

Residents were outraged by the youngster’s death and have filed a complaint against the maintenance authority responsible for the public space, according to local media.

It is unclear whether the local authorities are investigating the incident.
