A famous Malaysian rock singer has lost his memory after hitting his head during a game of indoor football.
According to local media, vocalist Ejai Aziz, whose group Azarra Band have music videos on YouTube that have been viewed over 10 million times, hit his head on the hard floor while playing futsal.
Reports said that he suddenly slipped and banged his head in an indoor sports centre near the city of Sungai Buloh in the district of Petaling located in the western Malaysian state of Selangor on October 13th.
The recording artist was rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital where his band members joined his side and posted photos of him in a hospital bed.
The Azarra Band wrote: “Doctors confirmed that out frontman Ejai suffered a head injury.
“He suffered serious concussion that led to his memory loss.”
Reports said that the band has had to cancel a string of concerts following the singer’s accident.
A photo of the frontman in a wheelchair was posted on his official Instagram profile with the message: “Ejai is in hospital and his memory loss is critical.
“We hope his friends pray for his memory to return soon.”
According to local media, the singer is currently unable to recognise anyone and although the condition may be temporary, he has been told to rest and heal before being able to consider performing with the band again.
The popular rock band’s music clips attract hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and the video for the song ‘Alalala Sayang’ (‘Remember Baby’) has been seen 10.5 million times.
