This is the moment a robber brutally beats a female shop worker before raiding the till.
The robbery took place at a convenience store on Mira Street in the town of Birsk in the Russian republic of Bashkortostan on the morning of 26th January.
The Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs Office said in a statement on the same day: “At around 8am, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the district of Birsky received a message that a man had beaten a shop worker on Mira Street and stolen money. The attacker’s actions were recorded by a surveillance camera.”
The police established that the suspect took around RUB 6,000 (GBP 58) and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the beaten worker was hospitalised with head injuries.
The statement continued: “Agents from the criminal investigation unit of the Birsky District Police Department identified the alleged attacker – a previously convicted 29-year-old local resident. He was detained in one of the settlements in the district of Baltachevsky.
“According to preliminary data, at about 8am, the man went into the establishment, supposedly to warm himself up. After sitting for a while, the guest said he wanted a drink and asked to open the refrigerator for him to take alcohol from there.
“The worker pressed the button, but the fridge doors apparently did not open, so he asked her to come over and check.
“When the woman approached the customer, he hit her and started beating her. Then the attacker opened the till and stole the contents.”
The CCTV footage shows the suspect punching and stamping on the victim until she is near unconscious.
The investigation continues.
