This is the moment a roaming cow strolls through a doctor’s waiting room before later popping into a shop.

The incident took place in the city of San Ramon in the central Costa Rican province of Alajuela after 14 heifers and two bulls escaped from a nearby farm and wandered around town.

According to firefighters, one of the cows managed to get into a private clinic before popping into a shop.

In the video footage filmed by stunned onlookers, the beige cow is seen passing through the clinic’s waiting room as several men shoo it away.

It then crosses the road and walks alongside the pavement before turning down a side street.

Another clip shows the cow entering a shop and scaring two women, who huddle close together.

The cow peruses the first aisle of products before an employee appears brandishing a mop.

The footage ends with the heifer calmly strolling out of the shop.

According to local media, the other escaped animals were spotted wandering around the city streets, and were all successfully rounded up and returned to their owner.

Nobody was reported as injured, although several people were spooked by the wandering bovines.

Netizen ‘Psandcr’ joked: “Did it manage to find the medicines it was looking for?”

‘Moraoscar55’ added: “The cow only went for a check-up.”
