The surreal scene shows a group of railway workers pushing a broken train wagon as stunned onlookers watch in awe.
Smartphone footage captured in the city of Amethi, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, depicted the group of Indian Railways employees gathering along one side of the inspection coach on 21st March.
They were observed using their legs to push it along the tracks and towards the station, with their feet firmly planted in the sharp gravel surrounding the rails.
The scene followed after the wagon reportedly broke down on the main track near the Nihalgarh Railway Station.
After the maintenance team failed to repair it despite many efforts, the staff were deployed to push it from the main line and shift it to the loop line.
The coach was reportedly travelling from Lucknow to Sultanpur at the time the incident happened.
Inspector RS Sharma of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) said: “A DPC train which is used by railway officials for inspection broke down on Thursday at the outer of Nihalgarh Railway Station following which railway employees were deployed to push it to the station.
“The snag was then repaired, and the train went ahead to its destination.”
The clip triggered a number of reactions on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, where it was shared on Friday, 22nd March.
