Vladimir Putin’s goddaughter – who reportedly fell out with the Russian leader after she stood against him in a presidential race – has called women over 40 who post naked snaps online “desperate”.
Ksenia Sobchak, 38, has a connection with the Russian president through her father Anatoly Sobchak, who reportedly mentored Putin and the former Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Anatoly was the first democratically elected mayor of Saint Petersburg, where Putin was born, and was also a professor of law when he first met and became friends with the Russian leader.
His daughter Ksenia used her famous connections to become a media celebrity, presenting the country’s longest-running TV series ‘Dom-2’ before deciding to launch a political career.
Her prominence among the country’s opposition even led to her attending the National Prayer Breakfast with President Donald Trump in Washington earlier this year, together with other Russian politicians.
Many have claimed that her close family ties with Putin allowed her more leeway than other political opponents.
She recently made a controversial statement on Instagram, where she boasts 6.9 million followers, calling women over 40 who post naked photos online “desperate”.
Ksenia said: “I have noticed for a long time ago that the more a woman flaunts her naked skin on Instagram, the more desperate she appears.
“It may be okay to flirt around and show off your assets in your twenties, but when it is done by someone over 40, it looks like a cheap version of ‘take me right now’.”

It is believed that Ksenia referred to one of her former close friends Oxana Lavrenieva, 40, who owns the successful clothing company RusModa as well as the luxurious beauty salon Beliy Sad (White Garden).
Lavrentieva’s husband, popular writer Alexander Tsypkin, 44, has publicly told Ksenia to back off while defending his wife’s post.
Previously, the Russian businesswoman posted a steamy snap of herself with the caption: “How can you motivate yourself to do sports? After seeing this photo I finally understand that my effort at the gym was worth it, there is no way I can stop.”
Last year, she raised eyebrows when she shared a sexy social media snap of herself showering in a black bikini on a yacht off Antibes in the French Cote d’Azur.
Netizen ‘NatiGB212’ said: “I think sharing ‘naked’ photos on social media is stupid at any age.”
‘Yankadema’ commented: “You have shown us way too much, many times. You have nothing left to surprise us with.”
‘UlianaKosa’ added: “It is much nicer to look at someone’s naked bum than your vagina covered by a book!”
