Russian cops have arrested this dad – who claims to be a military intelligence officer – for allegedly raping his now 13-year-old daughter for seven years and they found a huge arsenal in his house.

Local media report the suspect, named as Andrey Bovt, claimed he was a GRU military intelligence agent – like the ones who did the Novichok attack in Salisbury – when he was arrested with an arsenal of weapons telling cops he would open fire if they came closer.

The startling incident took place in the village of Khimozi in the Leningrad Oblast region of western Russia. Father-of-six Bovt was arrested on suspicion of having repeatedly raped his 13-year-old daughter for the past seven years.

The arrest came after the authorities received a call about domestic violence at the family home. Investigators went to the scene and Bovt reportedly claimed he was an agent from the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GRU) and threatened to open fire.

He was eventually arrested and cops reportedly seized an arsenal of weapons from inside the house, including different types of automatic weapons: machine guns, pistols, and ammunition, as seen in these images.

A criminal case was initiated under Paragraph ‘b’ of part 4 of Article 131 of the Russian Criminal Code for the “rape of a victim who has not reached the age of 14 yet”.

The victim was questioned and taken for forensic examinations as investigators look into the conditions the family were living in. Pictures show the rooms were untidy and cramped, with clothes strewn across the furniture.

Local media report the other family members will be questioned by investigators.

One neighbour said that the children attended school and were good students.

Tamara Litvinova, the regional ombudsman, said: “A few children from the family were hospitalised. They are in deep stress.”

Bovt reportedly said “it didn’t happen, I’m not guilty” when asked if he knew why he had been detained, adding “I didn’t do anything, I’m not guilty, my conscience is clear”.

He reportedly asked to personally meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as he claimed he was being “defamed” to stop him being able to carry out his “work responsibility” of fighting corruption and drug trafficking.

The suspect’s wife, who has not been named, was also reportedly questioned after her husband was detained.

It is unclear if the suspect has been charged.
