After the incident, Dirk W. reportedly told the hotel reception his girlfriend was not feeling well. Police later found her lifeless body in the bathroom.

The post mortem showed the young woman was strangled to death. Dirk W. was arrested, but reportedly told police that it was a tragic sex accident, saying he had accidentally strangled the victim with a towel.

Five months after her death, her credit card was found in a lift, and Dirk W. reportedly later admitted leaving it there. Prosecutors are investigating whether Dirk W. intended to steal money from the millionaire. Dirk W. claims he took the credit card for a bit of fun as she always complained about paying all the bills.

On 12th April a spokesman for the cantonal police said: “A 29-year-old German citizen was arrested on 9th April. Today he has been formally accused of intentional murder with the possibility of the lesser charge of involuntary homicide after the investigation, which is ongoing.

“The autopsy has been carried out but the conclusion has not yet reached the Public Ministry.”

The case is ongoing.
