These gruesome images of the murdered Venezuelan helicopter pilot who launched a grenade attack on government buildings will be sent to The Hague as apparent proof he was assassinated on president Nicolas Maduro’s orders.

Venezuela’s exiled general prosecutor Luisa Ortega Diaz shared the shocking photos on social media as “evidence” that the Venezuelan state had former police captain and pilot of the helicopter which launched the grenades Oscar Perez murdered despite him surrendering to officers.

Perez went on the run after he was named as the helicopter pilot who launched grenades at Venezuela’s Supreme Court building in June 2017 in protest against Nicolas Maduro’s government.

The former cop was killed in January 2018 during an assault on his hideout on the outskirts of capital city Caracas.

According to reports, Perez and six associates surrendered to Maduro’s forces at the hideout, but they were all allegedly shot in the head and chest instead of being arrested and tried.

Diaz said: “This evidence leaves us with no doubt that what happened to Oscar Perez and his team was a crime against humanity.”

The exiled prosecutor, who was a close associate of former president Hugo Chavez before falling out with his successor Maduro, claims to have over 300 images that she will send to the International Criminal Court in The Hague in the Netherlands.

She believes the rebel group Perez was a member of were executed by “civil servants serving tyranny”.

When the rebel pilot died, President Maduro reportedly said: “Order accomplished.” 

The investigation is ongoing.
