However, instead of stepping on the brake, Xie said he slammed his foot on the accelerator, careering towards the mum and her young daughter who are walking on the pavement.

Fortunately, the mother, surnamed Xia, is alert to the danger and can be seen shoving her daughter out the way before Xie crashes to a stop into the back of a parked car.

Tongling traffic police said the mum suffered minor injuries during the accident, having been clipped by the front of Xie’s crashing car.

The moped rider escaped with no serious injuries and the young girl was unharmed.

Xie reportedly admitted to having been too tired at the time of failing to react proper during the moped collision.

The crash is still being investigation.
